Working on a card case this morning. It has a grain calf tan lining with a vegetable tanned smooth calf cover. It isn’t done yet though. Only one half has been saddle stitched and it still needs to have the edges finished.
There are many things that add to the quality of leather goods. I will point out one of them on this piece. It isn’t pictured, but the wallet is completely lined in leather. That means that you will never see a raw edge or side. Also because it is made only made of leather, there is not cardboard or other substance used as a stiffener. The weight and structure come from the strength of leather used. As it ages it will mold itself to how you use it.
